Welcoming Shekelia Franklin to Resilient Minds of Ga
At Resilient Minds of Georgia, we believe in building a team of professionals who not only have the skills, but also the heart to make a difference. We’re excited to introduce our newest team member, Shekelia Franklin, who is joining us as she furthers her education on the path to earning her PhD.
While the word intern might sound like she’s just starting out, nothing could be further from the truth. Shekelia is a highly qualified, National Certified Counselor (NCC) with years of experience providing therapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups across diverse backgrounds. She holds a B.A. in Sociology with a concentration in Community Health and an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is also an active member of Chi Sigma Iota and NSLS.
Throughout her career, Shekelia has helped clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. Her approach draws from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). She’s known for encouraging open communication, fostering problem-solving, and guiding personal growth, always with empathy and care.
Her therapeutic style is interactive and engaging, often incorporating mindfulness activities and cognitive restructuring exercises that empower clients to better connect with their emotions and achieve meaningful progress.
We’re confident that Shekelia’s expertise, passion, and commitment to client-centered care will make her an invaluable part of our team. Please join us in welcoming her to Resilient Minds of Georgia!
💙 Welcome, Shekelia!
